OnSeptember26,1931,eightdaysafterthe"September18Incident",ZouTaofenreportedtheincidentinLifeWeekly.Fromthistimeon,ZouTaofenneverputdownhispeninordertopropagatetheanti-Japanesewar.Atthesametime,healsousedtheinfluenceof"LifeWeekly"amongreaderstoorganizedonationsforfront-lineanti-Japanesesoldiers.HerepeatedlycriticizedtheKuomintanggovernment'scompromisebehaviorinresponsetothesituationoftheWarofResistanceAgainstJapan.Heactivelysupportspatrioticmovementsinvariousplaces,andraisesfundsforthe19thRouteArmyandotherpatrioticpatriots,runningandshouting."LifeWeekly"heldhighthebannerof"resistingJapanandsavingthecountry"andbecameapositionofpublicopinioncenteredonpropagatingunityinthewarofresistanceandcondemningsurrenderandtraitorouscountry.

PropagandaagainstJapan
OnFebruary29,1936,"PopularLife"waspublishedtothe16thissueandwassealedbytheKuomintanggovernment.ZouTaofenleftShanghaiforHongKonginMarch1936.Inordertobeabletopubliclypublishhispropositionsforthewarofresistanceandnationalsalvationandspreadinformationfromvariousplaces,soonafterhearrivedinHongKong,hebegantoorganizethe"LifeDaily"withhisfriendJinZhonghua.Aftermonthsofhardworkdayandnight,the"LifeDaily"wasfinallypublishedonJune7.Inhispublishedspeech,ZouTaofenclearlystatedthat"thetwomainpurposesofthisnewspaperaretopromotenationalliberationandactivelypromotepopularculture",andstriveto"reflectthemosturgentrequirementsofthepeopleofthecountryatthisstagefromthepeople'sstandpoint."Afterthepublicationofthenewspaper,itactivelypromotedtheanti-Japanesewarandnationalsalvationideas.Inlessthantwomonths,ithadafar-reachingimpactandstronglypromotedthepatrioticsalvationmovementinthesouthwest.However,inviewofHongKong'spartialsecurity,inconvenientgeographicallocation,andblockedinformation,ZouTaofenthenannouncedthemovetoShanghaiforpublicationonAugust1attherequestofreaders.

TheNationalWarofResistance
Afterthe"July7Incident"in1937,underthestrongpressureofthepeopleacrossthecountry,onJuly31,theKuomintangauthoritieshadtoreleaseZouTaofenandother7peoplefromprison..FacedwiththesupportandeffortsoftheChinesepeople,ZouTaofenwasverymoved.Hesaidsincerely:"Theonlywayforustorepayistoworkharderonthenationalsalvationmovementandworkharderforthewelfareofthepublic."

LeavingChongqingtogotoHongKong
SinceApril1939,theKuomintangauthoritieshavesuccessivelyclosedorforcedtheclosureoflifebookstorebranches;allbookspublishedareprohibitedorconfiscated,evenafterpassingthroughTherearenoexceptionsforreviewandregistrationwiththeMinistryoftheInterior.ByFebruaryofthe30thyearoftheRepublicofChina(1941),withtheexceptionoftheChongqingbranch,morethan50branchesofLifeBookstoreintheKuomintangControlledAreawereclosed,andallemployeeswerearrestedordismissed.ZouTaofenwasfuriousatthisandmadestrongproteststotheKuomintanggovernmentoneafteranother.

Budova památníku
Bývalá rezidence ZouTaofeni umístěné č. 54,Wanyifang (ChongqingSouthRoad205). byla založena v č. 53 Wanyifang, ChongqingSouthRoad, Shanghai. 26. května 1959 a 7. prosince ,1977, to bylo oznámeno dvakrát jako městská jednotka na ochranu kulturních památek.
