PrincipleofSparkDischarge

Aflashandsoundinstantaneousgasdischargeoccursbetweenpositiveandnegativechargedareaswithahighpotentialdifference.Inthedischargespace,gasmoleculesareionized,thegasrapidlyandviolentlyheatsup,flashesandsounds.Thepaththatthedischargechanneltraversesanditsluminescenceandconductivitydependontheshapeandsizeofthepositiveandnegativechargedregions,thepotentialdifferencebetweenthem,andthenatureandpressureofthegas.Sincethevoltagebetweenthetwopolesisveryhighduringsparkdischarge,butthepowerofthepowersupplyisnotlarge,oncethedischargeoccurs,thecurrentintensityincreasessharply,andthevoltagedropsinstead,causingthedischargetobetemporarilyextinguished.Thedischargewillnotbeperformeduntilthevoltageisrestored.Therefore,thesparkdischargeisintermittent.Lightningisalarge-scalesparkdischargephenomenoninnature.Inhigh-voltageinstallations,electricalsparksmayoccurbetweenpartswithpoorcontact.Thisphenomenonconsumesenergy,damagesthedevice,andeasilycausesdanger.
