Introduction

Fiber access refers to the communication between the central office and the user Completely use optical fiber as the transmission medium. According to the degree of fiber penetration into users, it can be divided into FTTC, FTTZ, FTTO, FTTF, FTTH, etc.

Fiber to the curb (Fibertothecurb, FTTC) provides the installation and use of optical fiber directly to the curb near residential or any commercial environment. It is used as a substitute for "plain old telephone service (POTS)" . Imagine removing all the telephone lines you see nearby and reinstalling them with optical fiber. This kind of line will provide us with a fairly high bandwidth, making it possible to transmit movies, and online multimedia playback without significant delay. "Fiber to the roadside" recognizes that optical fiber has been used in most long-distance telephone services and the Internet. Unfortunately, this last part (i.e. installing the fiber to the curb) is the most expensive. For this reason, fiber to the curb is progressing very slowly. There are other less expensive options, such as asymmetric digital subscriber lines in regular telephone lines and satellite transmission, which are likely to be implemented earlier in most places.

Meaning

Fiber to the curb (FTTC) means that coaxial cables or other media can be within a very short distance (between the curb and the user in the house or business )Transmission signal. "Fiber to the building" (FTTB) is the installation of optical fiber from the central office of the telephone company to a special building, such as a business building or a residential building. "Fiber to the neighborhood" (FTTN) refers to all roadsides or buildings where fiber is installed to the neighborhood. "Hybrid fiber coaxial cable" (HFC) is an example of the distribution concept. Optical fiber is used as a backbone network medium in a specific environment, while coaxial cable is used between the backbone network and individual users (like those used for In a small business or college environment).
