Pengros ladder

Introduction

Pengros step (Penrose Step Roger Pengros) is one of the famous mathematical paradoxes. As shown in the right image. In this magical figure, people have been walking along the steps, but they have been turning around the same level.

If Pat is surprised to exist, he will be more surprised to such a step. He can take a circle forever, but it is always climbing up, and returns to his original position again and again. This is impossible. Just because our eyes are confused by drawing, this step is existent. These areas that cannot be homogeneous is a visually similar product.

History

This "impossible step" is invented by British Genetologist Leonier S. Pengros and his son mathematician Rogel Pengros The latter released it in 1958, and people often call this step as "Pengros step". Dutch painter Moritz Ehere is deeply interested in this, he fully utilizes "Pengros step" in his stone screening and downward.
