100base-t

synonym 100BaseT generally refers to 100BASE-T

Features

(1) Data transfer rate 100Mbps baseband transmission

(2) adopted FDDI PMD protocol, but price ratio FDDI is cheap.

(3) 100BASE-T standard is set by IEEE 802.3. Take the same media access technology, similar wiring rules and the same lead lines, easy to integrate with 10BASE-T.

100base-t

(4) Each network segment allows only two repeaters, the maximum network span is 210 meters.

Quick Ethernet has four basic implementations: 100Base-TX, 100BASE-FX, 100Base-T4 and 100Base-T2. Each specification is the same in addition to the interface circuit, the interface circuit determines which type of cable they use. In order to achieve clock / data recovery (CDR) function, 100BASE-T uses 4B / 5B Manchester coding mechanism.

(5) Implementation Standard Description: 100Base-fx uses 2 fibers, one fiber is used to send, and another fiber is used for reception; 100Base-TX uses the 5-class data line without shielded twisted pair or shield Rapid Ethernet technology of twisted pair. It uses two pairs of twisted pairs, one pair for transmission, one pair for receiving data, working with full-duplex mode, and 100BASE-T4 operates in half-duplex mode.

100Base-TX

100Base-TX is two stranded pairs like 10BASE-T. However, due to the high frequency of the transmission signal, a higher quality twisted pair is required, which is typically a UTP-5 or matching resistance of 150Ω STP (shielded twisted pair), the maximum transmission distance is 100m when using UTP-5. . 100BASE-TX is the earliest use of 100MB / s Ethernet products in the market, and is also one of the most widely used network products.

100Base-fx

100 base FX uses fiber as a transmission medium, and the transmission distance is related to the fiber type and connection mode used. In the 100 Base FX environment, 62.5 / 125 μm multimode optical cable is generally selected, and 50/125, 85/125 and 100/125 cable can also be selected. However, in a complete cable segment, you must choose the same type of cable to avoid unnecessary loss of the optical signal. For multimode optical cables, in the 100 Mbps transfer rate, in the case of point-to-point connection and full-duplex, the longest medium segment is 2km. 100 base FX also supports single-mode optical cable as a media. In full duplex, single-mode optical cable segments can reach 40km, even farther, but prices are much more expensive than multi-mode light. In the system configuration, an external single-mode optical cable transceiver can be external, or a multimode / single-mode converter can be configured on the connector of the multimode optical cable transceiver to drive the single-mode cable. The fiber optic interface still uses the MIC, ST or SC fiber interface.

100Base-T4

100 base-t4 is a 4-to-line system, but it uses half-duplex transmission mode, the transport medium uses three, 4 classes, and 5 categories without shielding Double strand UTP 4 pairs of lines of 100 Mbps of the line. Among them, 3 pairs of twisted pairs are used for data transmission, and 1 is used for conflict detection. The maximum length of the media segment is 100 meters. 100 base-t4 also uses the RJ-45 interface, the connection method is the same as 10 base-T, 4 pairs (1-2, 3-6, 4-5, 7-8) correspond to one or one. However, only one-2, 3-6 two pairs in the 10 Base-T system, usually 4 pairs of lines when wiring will be installed. For the original system with a 3-type line wiring, the network can be upgraded from 10 Mbps to 100 Mbps by using 100 base-T4 without rewiring.

100Base-T2

100Base-T2 adopts 2 pairs of 3, 4, and 5 types UTP as the transmission medium. It uses 2 pairs of lines in RJ-45.
