Introduction
In the past, "Modern Chinese Dictionary (5th Edition)" only indicated part of speech for some function words, common pronouns, and quantifiers. Chinese words have been fully marked with parts of speech; some of the function words in classical Chinese have been marked with parts of speech, but now they have also been marked with parts of speech. In modern Chinese, distinguishing words from non-words and classifying parts of speech is a very difficult task. In many cases, it is difficult to achieve "one size fits all". When we deal with this problem, we not only pay attention to absorbing the achievements of Chinese grammar research in recent years, but also take into account the experience of grammar teaching over the years, and do our best to be as scientific and reliable as possible, hoping to help readers in their study and research. Since the publication of "Modern Chinese Dictionary (5th Edition)", it has made important contributions to the promotion of Putonghua and the standardization of Chinese. It has played a huge role in my country's cultural education and scientific research. It has been welcomed by readers and valued by society. Won the National Book Award, the National Dictionary Award, the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Wu Yuzhang Humanities and Social Science Award, and enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad. With the development of the times, language is also evolving and changing. To adapt the dictionary to the needs of social development, it is necessary to constantly revise it so that it can keep pace with the times, and better serve the readers and society. After the "Modern Chinese Dictionary (5th Edition)" was officially published in 1978, it had been revised twice in 1983 and 1996, and a supplement was published in 2002. The focus of this revision is twofold: one is to adjust the collection of words, add new words and new meanings, and delete some old and seldom used words or meanings; the second is to mark words as part of speech on the basis of distinguishing words from non-words. . This revision deletes more than 2,000 words from the original vocabulary, and adds more than 6,000. The book contains about 65,000 words, which basically reflects the current appearance of modern Chinese vocabulary and can meet the needs of readers.

For example:
The "氵" [77] part three divisions are now classified after the water on page 43—— The "Water" part is 77, and the "氵" is marked [77], which caused some inconvenience to the search.
In the old version, the order is strictly based on the strokes of the radical. The sixth version of the new version does not know how to amend it.
