Optical engine

The optical engine is composed of a CMOS image sensor and an optical positioning DSP (digital signal processor). The former is responsible for image collection and synchronization into a binary digital image matrix, while DSP is responsible for the adjacent image matrix Analyze and compare, and calculate the position offset of the mouse based on this. The optical mouse mainly has two indicators: resolution and refresh rate.

are marked, both of which are determined by the CMOS sensor. Although the structure of the optical engine does not seem complicated, the only manufacturers that can produce optical sensors are Agilent, Microsoft and Logitech. Among them, Agilent's optical sensors are widely used. Except for all of Microsoft's optical mice and some of Logitech's optical mice, other optical mice basically use Agilent's optical sensors. Microsoft's optical engine is only used in its own optical mouse products, not for sale, so as to ensure its own technological advantages. And Agilent is taking the supplier route, providing sensor products to mouse manufacturers.

Optical engine, also refers to the lighting source, display chip and imaging system in optical projection, generally including lighting source (such as LED, xenon lamp, high pressure mercury lamp, as well as the new trend of laser light source and hybrid laser white light model developed this year) Group), display chips (such as LCD, DLP (mainly DMD digital micro-mirror components), LCOS, etc.) and optical imaging systems (ultra-short throw projection lenses, etc.)
